FALCONER SIDELINED FOR REMAINDER OF 2015-16 SEASON

RADFORD, Va. – Freshman point guard Jen Falconer of the Radford women's basketball team has suffered a season-ending knee injury as announced by head coach Mike McGuire, Wednesday afternoon.

The Mechanicsburg, Pa., native tore her ACL during the first quarter of the Dec. 18 road game at Wofford. She will seek a medical redshirt for the 2015-16 season. Falconer joins a long list of injuries hampering the Highlanders' season. Among those injuries are two other season-ending ACL tears (Brittany Allen and Claudia Quevedo).

"Unfortunately, Jen suffered a season-ending knee injury in our game at Wofford," McGuire said. "We are obviously upset for Jen and our basketball team. Jen was learning quickly and becoming comfortable being a college point guard. We are really excited about having her be a big part of our program moving forward."

Falconer started all nine games she played and averaged 6.8 points per game. She was sensational running the point for the Highlanders, averaging 3.8 assists per game—led the Big South at the time. Falconer was also one of the Highlanders' few remaining 3-point threats, hitting 35.7 percent of her attempts from downtown.

"We know Jen will return stronger than before," McGuire continued. "Our team will continue to learn from this adversity and work to become closer together. Although we don't understand why this has happened, we do control how we respond. This is a great life lesson for all of us."

Radford, which has nine available players on its roster, hosts in-state rival Liberty at 2 p.m. for Saturday's Big South showdown inside the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders will be aiming for their 14^th straight home win.
