RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball team looks to bounce back from its most lopsided loss of the season when the Highlanders collide with Coastal Carolina, Thursday at 7 p.m., inside The HTC Center in Conway, S.C.

RADFORD ROUNDUP
In what head coach Mike McGuire hopes was a wakeup call for his team, Radford was held to a season-low 39 points in a 75-39 defeat at Liberty, Monday night. The 36-point loss was the widest margin of victory by an RU opponent this season—the next closest was a 33-point triumph by Coastal on Dec. 13.

Liberty (.469) became the first opponent in 10 games to shoot above 40 percent against the Highlanders (11-10, 8-4 Big South). It was the Flames' ninth straight win in the series and ninth straight win at home.

Despite the result, Radford remained in sole possession of third place in the Big South standings following Monday's slate of games. The Highlanders are a half game ahead of Campbell and Winthrop.

Ayana Avery is the only double-figure scorer for RU at 11 points per game. She is one of the Highlanders' top threats from beyond the arc. The 5-foot-5 guard has 53 3-pointers through 21 contests, which are the most in the Big South. Her 2.5 3-pointers per game also rank first in the Big South.

Over in the rebounding department, freshman Janayla White pulls down 7.6 caroms per contest. Her average ranks ninth in the conference. On top of her rebounding, White ranks third in the Big South in blocks per game, rejecting 1.9 shots per outing. In conference-only games, RU ranks third in the league with its +3.4 rebounding margin.

Paced by Aisha Foy's .403 clip from long range, Radford tops the Big South in 3-point field goal percentage (.342). Foy is one of two Highlanders who average over 30 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
The Chanticleers (10-11, 4-8 Big South) enter Thursday on a three-game losing streak. All three losses have been by single digits.

Big South scoring leader AJ Jordan, who averages 16.2 points per game, guides Coastal's offense. She had 21 points in the first meeting between these two teams this season.

Anna Vogt (13.0), Ced Gibson (12.4) and Stephanie Isaacs (10.1) join Jordan in double-figure scoring for the Chanticleers, who lead the Big South in points per game (72.5). Coastal also leads the league in rebounding at 44.7 boards per game.

Freshman Jas Adams has come on strong for the Chants in her last three games, averaging 18.7 points per game. The Winston-Salem, N.C. native earned Big South Freshman of the Week, Monday afternoon.

UP NEXT
Radford will play its third game in six days when the Highlanders return to the Dedmon Center for Saturday's 2 p.m. Big South battle with Presbyterian College.
