RADFORD, Va. – On paper, Saturday's women's basketball game between Radford and Presbyterian College should not lack defense, as two of the league's toughest defensive teams are set to collide at 2 p.m. inside the Dedmon Center.

RADFORD ROUNDUP
Playing their third game in six days, the Highlanders (12-10, 9-4 Big South) will look to reach double-digit wins in conference play for the first time since the 2010-11 season when they square off against PC.

Radford picked up a crucial road victory over Coastal Carolina, Thursday night, avenging a 75-42 loss to the Chanticleers earlier in the season. With the win, the Highlanders pulled to within a half game of second-place High Point in the Big South standings.

RU will be aiming for its first home win against the Blue Hose since Jan. 23, 2012. The Highlanders, who handed PC its only home setback (43-35) earlier in the year, could sweep the season series for the first time since 2010-11 with a win.

Ayana Avery is the only double-figure scorer for RU at 10.5 points per game. She is one of the Highlanders' top threats from beyond the arc. The 5-foot-5 guard has 53 3-pointers through 22 contests, which are the most in the Big South. Her 2.4 3-pointers per game also rank first in the Big South.

Over in the rebounding department, freshman Janayla White and senior Jordynn Gaymon both pull down 7.4 caroms per contest. Their average ranks ninth in the conference. On top of her rebounding, White ranks third in the Big South in blocks per game, rejecting 1.8 shots per outing. In conference-only games, RU ranks third in the league with its +3.2 rebounding margin.

Paced by Aisha Foy's .390 clip from long range, Radford tops the Big South in 3-point field goal percentage (.338). Foy is one of two Highlanders who average over 30 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN
The Blue Hose (12-11, 7-7 Big South) will be riding high into the New River Valley following its convincing 78-59 victory over High Point, Thursday night.

PC has lost three of its previous five games—all losses were on the road. The Blue Hose only has a 3-10 road record, including a 1-6 ledger when visiting league opponents. Presbyterian's lone Big South road win came against Coastal Carolina in double overtime.

Keyonna Allen, who is Presbyterian's scoring leader at 10.3 points per game, tied her career high of 22 points in the win. Allen connected on 90.9 percent (10-11) of her shots on her way to setting the Blue Hose's DI record for shooting percentage. Ironically, Allen's other 22-point performance came at Radford last season.

Janie Miles, a contender for Big South Freshman of the Year, contributes 8.8 points per game and converts 38.7 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc.

Annually one of the top defensive teams in the nation, PC will bring its second-ranked scoring defense into the Dedmon Center on Saturday. The Blue Hose only yield 50.6 points per game. That average only trails two-time defending national champion Connecticut.

UP NEXT
Radford remains at home for Tuesday's 7 p.m. in-state clash with Longwood. RU downed the Lancers, 78-60, in the season's first meeting.
