WNIT BRACKET

FORT COLLINS, Colo. –
Radford, which will be making its first postseason appearance in seven years, learned East Carolina is its opponent in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The tournament committee made the announcement Monday night.

The Highlanders (17-13) are set to collide with East Carolina on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum in Greenville, N.C. It will be the fourth overall meeting between the two programs and the first since Dec. 30, 1993.

ECU (21-10) leads the head-to-head series, 2-1. The Pirates are making their third straight appearance in the WNIT.

Radford is making its sixth postseason appearance—three trips each to the NCAA Tournament and the WNIT. The Highlanders' last trip to the postseason was in 2008 when they faced James Madison in the first round of the WNIT. RU is 2-2 all-time in the WNIT.

The WNIT features 32 first-round games, followed by 16 second-round games, eight third-round games, four quarterfinal games, two semifinal games and the championship. The championship game is nationally televised. The 64-team bracket is comprised of 32 automatic berths, one to each established conference, and 32 at-large berths.

A link to the full WNIT bracket is at the top of this page. The winner between the Highlanders and ECU will meet the East Tennessee State/NC State winner in the second round, which is to be played between Saturday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 24.
