TRACK & FIELD TO COMPETE AT HIGH POINT’S VERTKLASSE MEETING

RADFORD, Va. ---- Radford returns to the track at the VertKlasse Meeting on the campus of High Point University from Friday, April 3, to Saturday, April 4. Field events open the competition at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The women's javelin commences at 12:30 p.m. on Friday to open the event. Shot put and flights of the high jump will also be featured on the opening day. Running begins at 3:30 p.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The 10,000 meters closes all competition on Friday at approximately 7:20 p.m.
Saturday's action starts off with the 800 meters on the track at 10 a.m. and the long jump at 11 a.m. The bulk of competition is scheduled for Saturday. The final field event of the weekend will be the discus at 4 p.m., with the meet concluding around 5:10 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relay.

Teresa Williamson had the Red and White's best finish last weekend with her first-place performance in the 800 meters. She turned in a 2:13.57 to better her 2015 indoor best of 2:14.66 ran at the Big South Indoor Championships.
Katie Hickey led the Highlanders in the 1,500-meter run, taking second with a time of 4:47.07. After winning her heat on the prelims, Jessica Shelton raced her way to a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter high hurdles. Shelton clocked a season-best 14.33. Shania Williams, who took second in the shot put at the USF Invite on March 12, notched a fourth-place finish with a mark of 13.06m. Ashlen Veatch came in fifth in the hammer to continue the Red and White's strong showing in the throws at the Adidas Winthrop Invite. Veatch had a long heave of 47.04m.
