GREEN NAMED ALL-STATE BY VaSID

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. ---- The Virginia Sports Information Directors have named Radford's Javonte Green to the All-State Second team following the 2015 campaign. Green concluded his career as a Highlander as the program's second-leading scorer with 1,911 points.

Green was named All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), earning second-team honors among players in District III. He averaged 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest in his senior season, helping Radford record back-to-back 22-win seasons.

The first-team All-Big South selection closed the year with a flourish, compiling five double-doubles in his last six games and leading the Highlanders to their second straight season with a postseason victory in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). Radford is the first Big South program to record postseason victories in back-to-back years.

Green finished as Radford's second career leading scorer with 1,911 points. He owns school records with 1,064 rebounds and 243 steals.

Founded in 1983, the Virginia Sports Information Directors organization is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, independent institutions and community colleges from the state of Virginia. The purpose of the organization is to promote college athletics at all two- or four-year institutions.
