The Highlanders finished the indoor season with a third-place season at the indoor championships with nine All-Big South performances and Coach of the Year honors for Brent Chumbley.
In 2014, Radford took ninth as a team at the outdoor championships with 29 points. Teresa Williamson led the Highlanders with all-league performances in the 800 meters and 1,500-meter run. Williamson took the crown in the 1,500 meters last season, running a 4:39.28.
During the indoor championships, Williamson paced the Red and White with a title in the 800 meters, second-place finish in the mile and anchored the Big South championships record setting distance medley relay team.
Williamson enters the week with the fastest time in the 800-neter run this outdoor season. The five-time Big South Conference champion clocked a school-record 2:08.72 at the UT Challenge. Currently, Williamson is 1.04 seconds outside of the top-48 in the event in the East Qualifying List. Katie Hickey has turned in the seventh-fastest time in the 800 in the league with a 2:16.10 at the Mason Sprint Invite.
In the 1,500-meter run, Williamson currently sits second with a time of 4:30.40 ran at the Virginia Challenge.
Madeline Thomas brings a pair of top-five times to the league championships in the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs. Thomas finished 5,000 meters in 17:50.71 at the Winthrop Invite on March 26 and clocked a 38:54.72 in the 10,000-meter run at the High Point VertKlasse.
Courtney Rice, who owns five of the fastest times in program history, currently is fifth in the Big South in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an 11:38.16.
In the throws, the Highlanders have four hurlers in the top 10 between the shot put and hammer throw. Shania Williams had the third-longest mark in the shot put in the league this season, cranking a put of 13.47m (44-02.50). Naihla Rose-Delia is eighth at 12.67m (41-07.00) as Jazmine Banks is 10th at 12.05m (39-06.50).
