
WOMEN’S SOCCER TRAVELS TO APPALACHIAN STATE

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's soccer team makes its lone road trip in the first five games of the season on Friday as it travels to Boone, N.C. to face Appalachian State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Highlanders (1-1) split during the season's opening weekend, with five different players scoring a goal and a total of seven registering at least one point. Jordan Lundin and Jane Everett each had a goal and assist, with Asyia Mitchell, Jessica Wollmann and Jasmine Casarez tallying the other goals. Casarez recorded a team-high 12 shots as Radford totaled 48 as a team, while allowing just 22, including only eight attempts on goal.
Scouting Appalachian State: The Mountaineers are 1-0 on the season after notching a 3-2 comeback victory over UNC Wilmington at home last Friday. Appalachian State overcame a two-goal deficit with all three of its goals in the final 16 minutes, including the game-winner in the 89th… The Mountaineers return eight starters, including co-leading scorers Sam Childress (6 goals, 1 assist) and Jane Cline (5 goals, 3 assists), and goalkeeper Megan Roberson (61 saves, 1.42 GAA)
History: This will be the 10th meeting between the teams, with Radford holding a 5-4 advantage. The Highlanders posted a 2-1 victory at home last season on the strength of two first-half goals and six saves by goalkeeper Katie McCormick.
