  • Radford extended its home winning streak to 15 straight matches, which ties the program record set from 1990-91.
  • The Highlanders' last loss at home was against Coastal Carolina on Oct. 18, 2013.
  • The Dedmon Center was packed for the start of the match with an announced crowd of 784.
  • RU won its home tournament for the first time since 2009.

QUOTABLE
  • "We haven't beaten Elon since I've been here. Losing the way we lost in game two was not the way we do things here. Going into the locker room it was like 'we have to man up.' We only have eight players right now, and we can't really make any adjustments. The only adjustments we can make are mental adjustments and our attitude. Valerie Gonzalez coming in as a freshman and playing middle blocker having not practiced it all or played it since she was a sophomore in high school, did a phenomenal job. She's not going to show it in the stats, but for her to get on the floor at this level and do the things we ask her to do, she's the unsung hero for our match today. The crowd we had was amazing. They were completely behind us. Our kids absolutely fed off of that and that was great for them. I'm just glad we were able to persevere through this first weekend." ~ Radford head coach, Marci Jenkins.

UP NEXT
