HOW IT HAPPENED
- George Washington overcame a 0-1 deficit in the match by edging Radford late in the second and third sets en route to closing its home tournament unbeaten.
- Trailing 6-2 in the first frame, the Highlanders embarked on a 9-1 run to seize momentum on their way to the 25-19 decision.
- GW fought off four RU set points in the second stanza before earning the 31-29 favor.
- Down 24-18 in the third set, Radford utilized a 6-0 run to tie the score. The Highlanders earned set point (26-25) before GW responded with the next three points.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Maddie Palmer delivered her sixth straight (ninth career) double-double behind 18 kills and 18 digs (both team highs).
- Savanna Burton notched her fourth straight double-double of the season with 15 kills and 14 digs.
- Valerie Gonzalez reached double-figure kills for the second straight match, finishing with 11. She also chipped in two aces.
- Haley Kleespies recorded her third double-double of the season behind 44 assists and 12 digs.
- Megan Short led the blocks department with three. She was named to the all-tournament team following the match.
- Radford won the opening set for the third time this season.
- The second and third sets marked the fifth and sixth times, respectively, Radford was extended into bonus action through its first six matches.
- Chidima Osuchukwu, the reigning A-10 Player of the Week, unleashed a match-high 22 kills at a .366 rate for the Colonials.
- Four GW players tallied double-digit digs, led by Maddy Doyle's 19.
- Jordan Timmer engineered the Colonials' offense to a .179 attack clip with her 51 assists.
