HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Highlanders enter the weekend 8-0 at home this season.
  • Maddie Palmer became the third Highlander in the rally-scoring era to reach 1,000 career kills. Her Big South-leading total of 408 so far this season is fourth on the program's single-season list.
  • Palmer has posted four straight double-doubles, giving her 16 for the season and 32 for her career. Over the last three matches, she has totaled 70 kills and 48 digs. She also has recorded at least one ace in 19 straight matches.
  • Kelby Jackson is averaging just under 20 digs per match over the last three contests, while Kaylor Nash has 278 digs on the season, nine away from her career-high.
  • Haley Kleespies now has a conference-best 1,029 assists in 2016, 11 shy of her total from her freshman season. She has dished out 40 or more in eight of the last 10 matches.
  • In addition to Palmer, five other Highlanders now have over 100 kills this season. Sydney Tekstra is second with 177, followed closely by Mallory McKnight (173) and Amaya Rousseau (169). Valerie Gonzalez and Stephanie Neast each have 106.

  • Six different Camels have totaled at least 150 kills on the season, with three compiling over 200.
  • Jenny Tait leads the Big South with a .373 hitting percentage (.394 in conference) and is second on the team in kills (219). The senior middle blocker also leads the Camels with 91 blocks.
