Day 1 Results
HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Courtney Rice and Naihla Rose-Delia notched personal bests as the Radford women's indoor track and field team returned to competition at the Chipotle Marshall Invitational on Friday.
Rice clocked a career-best time in the 5,000 meters, crossing the line in 18:53.10 and finishing 14th. She trimmed nearly 17 seconds off her time in the event from two weeks ago on the same track.
Rose-Delia bettered each of her three previous performances this season as well as her top mark last year in the shot put, with a distance of 15.79 meters (51-09.75) on her second throw. Her previous personal-best was 15.32 meters. She had the top distance in her flight and placed 11th overall. Rose-Delia was just behind teammate Ashlen Veatch, who took 10th with 16.11 meters (52-10.25) on her first attempt.
Also on Friday, the Highlanders distance medley relay team of freshmen Allison Brennan, McKenzie Schrank, Percie Lyons and junior Courtney Burton finished seventh in a time of 12:58.63.
