ROSE-DELIA POSTS ANOTHER PR AND TOP 10 AT VT CHALLENGE

Day 1 Results
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Naihla Rose-Delia set a personal-best mark in the weight throw and recorded her eighth top-10 finish of the season Friday night during the first day of the Virginia Tech Challenge.
Rose-Delia recorded a distance of 16.04 meters (52-7.50) on her first throw, .25 meters better than last week's effort and good enough for ninth place in Friday's competition. She now has four top-10's on the season in the weight throw, along with four in the shot put.
Radford teammates Cara Myrtle and Jessica Shelton also notched personal-bests Friday. Competing in the 60-meter hurdles for the first time this season, Myrtle clocked a career-best time of 9.39 during the preliminary heat. Shelton recorded her best long jump distance for the second straight week, this time with a mark of 5.16 meters.
Also for the Highlanders, Danyelle McDaniel placed 12th out of 24 runners in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.79, while Shantel Jones clocked 8.07 in the 60-meter preliminary, her second-best time of the year. Kylie Knudsen lowered her 800-meter time to 2:24.80.
The meet continues Saturday, beginning in the field with the high jump at 11 a.m. and concluding with the 4x400 relay at 4 p.m.
