RADFORD TRAVELS TO CAMPBELL FOR CRITICAL FINAL ROAD GAME

RADFORD, Va. – Radford's men's basketball team looks to continue its recent success on the road when it plays away from home for the final time during the regular season Thursday night at Campbell. Tipoff in Gore Arena, site of next week's Big South Tournament, is set for 7 p.m.

The Highlanders (15-13, 8-8) still have a chance to earn the No. 5 seed for the conference tourney and a first-round bye, but need to win their last two games to have a shot. Radford trails current fifth-place Gardner-Webb by one and half games and sixth-place Liberty by a game. If the three teams finish in a tie, RU would win the tiebreaker.

Radford has won three of its last four road games, but for the sixth time in the last seven contests overall is facing a team on a win streak of three or more games.

SETTING THE STAGE

LAST MEETING
Propelled by a career-high 35 points from Cameron Jones, Radford led from start to finish in a 78-66 victory at the Dedmon Center on Jan. 20. The Highlanders were ahead by 15 at halftime and as much as 24 in the second half before holding off a Campbell rally that saw the Camels get within six.

Jones shot 12 of 19 from the field and connected on a career-high six 3-pointers (on nine attempts), including 5 of 6 in a 19-point first half. As a team, the Highlanders shot 55 percent for the game and made 9 of 14 attempts from behind the arc. Ed Polite, Jr. totaled 11 points, seven rebounds and a season-best six blocks, while Rashun Davis chipped in 10 points and six assists.

Chris Clemons scored 25 points and made 5 of 10 3-pointers for Campbell, which shot 33 percent in the first half and 43 percent in the game.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
Radford's last four games have been decided by a total of eight points, with each coming down to the final possession of regulation or overtime. The Highlanders had a pair of game-winning baskets in the last 15 seconds, but saw opponents hit winning or tying shots in the last five seconds. Radford is 10-2 in games following a loss this season.

Rashun Davis is tied for 12th on RU's career scoring list (1,267) and tied for eighth in steals (166). His 134 assists this season are tied for seventh-most by a Highlander. Davis leads the Big South with 4.8 assists per game, is second with 2.0 steals and ranks ninth in scoring at 14.2 ppg. He stands tied for 32nd nationally in steals.

Cameron Jones has scored 20 or more points in five of the last 11 games, including three of the last four in which he is averaging 20.8 per contest and shooting 51.5 percent from the field. SCOUTING CAMPBELL
After going through a 10-game losing streak, Campbell (12-15, 5-11) has turned it around to win four straight, including three in conference play. The Fighting Camels won for the first time in 2016 on Feb. 11 against Gardner-Webb before adding road victories at Presbyterian (91-61) and Charleston Southern (74-72).

Chris Clemons tallied 14 points in the Charleston Southern game on Saturday to become the fifth freshmen in Big South history to score 500 points. Clemons' average of 18.5 ppg ranks sixth nationally among freshmen and fourth overall in the conference. He leads the league in total 3-pointers (85) and treys per game (3.1), ranking 17th and 18th nationally in those categories, while hitting at a 38 percent clip. He is also shooting a league-best 87 percent from the free-throw line.

Sophomore Troy Harper is second on the team with 13.6 ppg and scored a career-high 26 against Charleston Southern. He has scored in double figures in 18 of the last 20 games, including 16 against Radford in the first meeting. D.J. Mason is averaging 10.3 ppg and a team-high 6.4 rebounds per game, but has come off the bench the last seven games after starting the first 20. Redshirt senior Rod Days and junior Quinton Ray have been inserted into the starting lineup, but are averaging just 5.9 and 1.3 ppg, respectively. Kyre' Hamer is just below double figures with 9.6 ppg, while Shane Whitfield is at 7.6.
