WOMEN’S LACROSSE PREPARES FOR SATURDAY NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS



RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's lacrosse team gears up for Saturday's Big South showdown with High Point under the lights at Vert Stadium in High Point, N.C. Opening draw is scheduled for 7 p.m.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
The Highlanders (1-11, 0-5 Big South) suffered their fifth Big South setback of the season Wednesday evening at Longwood. Adrian Rius tallied three goals for RU, marking the fourth straight outing she scored at least three goals in a game.
 
Gracie Peterson paces the Highlanders with 23 goals on the season. Emma Rogers and Rius are right behind with 22 goals apiece, followed by Juliette Ruland's 19.
 
Rius continues to lead the conference in draw controls per game (4.25). Meanwhile, Hannah Rosen holds the top mark for saves per game (11.25) and is third in ground balls per game (3.58).
 
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
The Panthers (9-4, 5-0 Big South) are coming off a 19-1 victory over Liberty at home Wednesday afternoon. It was the second time in program history High Point held its opponent to a single goal. Furthermore, the Panthers have only yielded seven goals over their past three games.
 
HPU ranks second among Big South teams in goals against average (8.48). The Panthers are anchored in goal by freshman Molly Andrews, who has a 48.9 save percentage. Emily Meier has a team-high 51 points (24 goals, 27 assists) to lead High Point, which has scored at least 15 goals in its previous five outings.
 
Radford is the last of three straight home games for the Panthers. They are 18-0 all-time against Big South foes at Vert Stadium. HPU already has signature wins over Oregon, Michigan and No. 21-ranked James Madison this season.
 
UP NEXT
Radford returns to Cupp Stadium to close its regular season with a pair of home games. First up is an in-state tilt with Liberty on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
