
CREIGHTON FINISHES TIED FOR SEVENTH IN JANNEY VCU SHOOTOUT

RICHMOND, Va. – Mother Nature cooperated with day two of the 2016 Janney VCU Shootout as there was nothing but blue skies at The Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe Creek Course. Radford finished the shootout in 12th place with a 36-hole score of 596 as the event ended Tuesday afternoon.

The Highlanders struggled on the second day of the event, finishing 16-over par (304), falling three spots. Virginia Tech captured the shootout title for the fourth time in five years, firing a 36-hole total of 548.

Myles Creighton finished the shootout strong, firing a three-under par 69, for a two-day total of 137 to finish tied for seventh. The junior earned his fourth career Top 10 performance. The 36-hole total is the best of Creighton's career. Creighton finished his round with five birdies, giving him nine in the shootout.

Conner Lewis put together back-to-back strong tournaments to start the fall season, finishing tied for 33rd place. Lewis finished the day with a 74, giving him a two-day total of 145, which is a career-best performance for the redshirt-senior. Â

Creighton and Lewis finished tied in Par 3 scoring, finishing with an average of 2.75.

In their first collegiate tournaments, Ryan Ahrens finished 76th with a 161 and Peter Gasperini followed in 79th place with a 164.

Radford will take almost a month off, returning to action Oct. 17-18 in the Elon Intercollegiate, held at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, N.C.
