RADFORD HOSTS CAMPBELL IN TUESDAY NIGHT BIG SOUTH BATTLE



RADFORD, Va. – The Radford volleyball team looks to continue the momentum in the final week of the regular season by taking on Campbell on Tuesday night at the Dedmon Center. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS (22-3, 12-2 BIG SOUTH)

•  The Highlanders (22-3, 12-2 Big South) have improved its match win streak to nine with its last loss coming on Oct. 3 against Liberty.
•  Radford handled Charleston Southern easily with a three set victory on Saturday night.
•  On Saturday night Maddie Palmer took command as the all-time kills leader at Radford during the rally-scoring era and currently has 1,469 career kills.
•  Palmer ranks second in the conference with just over four kills per set. She also ranks second in the Big South with 415.5 points and 4.57 points per set.
•  Haley Kleespies has 934 assists, which ranks 10th in a single-season at Radford and she is first in the conference averaging 10.25 assists per set.
•  Radford ranks fourth in the country in opposing hitting percentage as teams are only hitting .143 when facing the Highlanders.
•  With a .255 hitting percentage as a team, Radford sits at second in the conference and 37th in the nation.
•  Last time out against the Fighting Camels, the Highlanders used eight total blocks and 87 digs to power through a four-set victory. Nash led the way with 29 digs.
•  Stephanie Neast and Palmer each recorded a double-double in the match. Neast picked up 14 kills with 13 digs, while Palmer added 20 kills with 14 digs.
•  Since rejoining the league in 2011 Campbell has never defeated Radford in the regular season.
•  The Highlanders are 13-0 since 2011 against the Fighting Camels in the regular season and are 2-1 in Big South Conference Tournament matches with their only loss coming in a semifinal match in 2015.
 
SCOUTING CAMPBELL (19-9, 9-5 BIG SOUTH)
•  Series: Radford leads 28-4 (Last Meeting: September 29, 2017 | Radford won, 3-1)
•  The Camels sit at 19-9 overall this season (9-5 Big South Conference) after earning a pair of 3-0 sweeps at home last weekend.
•  Junior, Jessica Stocking, had a pair of 15-kill performances and tallied 12 digs for a double-double in the Fighting Camels win over UNC Asheville on Saturday.
•  Campbell sits in third place in the Big South standings by a full two matches with only two matches remaining in league play.
•  Allena Heath leads the Camel offense with a Big South-best 409 kills and is the top attacker statistically with 4.26 kills per set. She sits 27th nationally in total kills, 26th in kills per set and was the first player in the conference to surpass 400 kills.
•  Summer Schuitema ranks 10th in NCAA Division I for service aces with 47, and held the national lead earlier in the season. She also stands third in the league for assists with 9.55 per set and 926 total.
