BUIES CREEK, N.C. – In a match featuring two of the top offensive teams in the nation, the Radford women's soccer team was stymied in a 2-0 defeat to Campbell at the Eakes Athletics Complex Wednesday night.

The loss is only the second of the season for the Highlanders as they move to 8-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play while the Fighting Camels improve to 6-4-0 and stay a perfect 2-0 versus Big South competition.

Campbell came out strong in front of their home crowd, outshooting the Highlanders, 10-3, over the first 40 minutes of the match. Their 11^th shot was the first that they made truly count as Siara Southerland tapped a cross from Shannon Wratchford into the net at the near post.

The Highlanders didn't back down however, as sophomore forward Nelia Perez led the charge for an equalizer. A well placed shot from distance was just high over the crossbar before the first half came to a close and another strong, left-footed shot in the 56^th minute forced a sprawling save.

Perez placed three of her four shots on goal while fellow forward, junior Jessica Wollmann, put two of her four shots on frame.

Following an injury timeout, the Camels pounced immediately after the restart as Alexa Genas danced in the box and placed her Big South-leading 10^th goal of the season into the back of the net to seal the game.

Freshman goalkeeper Lexi Dean put up a great effort against a potent offense, posting seven saves on a season high 21 shots faced.

The last time a Radford opponent tallied 20 or more shots in a game was on October 29, 2016 when the Highlanders took on Campbell in the Big South Tournament quarterfinals
Sophomore midfielder Nicole Ray was credited with two shots in the game, including one on goal
Sophomore defender Emily Dunn entered the game in the second half after leaving the Winthrop match with an injury
Giannone, Casarez, Struder, Rangel-Ribiero and Dean all played the full 90 minutes
