SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford extended its home winning streak to 20 straight inside the Dedmon Center and the Highlanders could match the program record for consecutive home wins.
  • The program record is 21, which was set during a span from 1983-84.
  • Liberty owns the Big South record with 24 consecutive home wins.
  • The Highlanders are looking to open Big South play with a victory for the second straight season.
  • Radford has not opened conference play with a win in back-to-back seasons since 2010 and 2011.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Highlanders hold a four-game winning streak in the all-time series and a three-game streak at home.
  • Radford holds a 58-16 edge in the all-time series and a 25-9 clip at home.

  • Radford closed out non-conference play with a 75-43 victory over UVa-Wise on Dec. 30 in the first meeting between the two since 1977.
  • The 32-point victory is the first 30-point victory since Nov. 23, 2016 when the Highlanders defeated Tennessee Tech (79-46).
  • The Highlanders are now 15-7 in non-conference play since 2016.
  • Radford's smothering defense forced 22 Cavalier miscues, turning them into 23 points off a season-high 16 steals. The Highlanders' tempo continued with 20 fastbreak points.
  • The 16 steals are the most since 15 against Longwood on Feb. 20, 2016. Of the 16 steals, six different Highlanders finished with two-plus steals each as Claudia Quevedo led the way with five.
  • The Highlander defense has forced 18-plus turnovers in eight of 11 games on the season.
  • Ranking 88th nationally with 18.5 turnovers forced per game, Radford is averaging 13.7 points per game off opponent miscues.
  • The Highlander defense is limiting opposing teams to only 57.4 ppg, ranking 43rd nationally. Radford also ranks 44th in the country with a 27.4 three-point field goal defense.

  • Led by Quevedo's career-high eight assists, Radford finished with 20 assists on Saturday for the third time this season.

  • Radford placed four players in double-figures for the second straight game on Saturday and fourth time on the season as Jayda Worthy led the way with a season-high 19 points, while etching her name in the program's history books.
  • Worthy entered the game needing only 14 points to eclipse the 1,000-point mark to become the 22nd player in program history to do so.
  • In addition, Worthy became the 12th player in program history with 1,000 points and 500 career rebounds. Worthy has 628 rebounds, which ranks 13th in Radford history.
  • Radford now has three players averaging double-figures as Destinee Walker leads the way with 11.9 points ppg. Walker has played in nine games, scoring double figures in six games.
  • Khiana Johnson follows with 11.7 per game and Worthy now comes in at 10.7 a game as the Highlanders average 58.3 as a team.
  • Radford has increased its field goal percentage to 37.6 over the last five games, while Worthy paces the squad with a 51.3 percentage from the floor.
 
SCOUTING WINTHROP
  • Winthrop enters the game winless against NCAA Division I as the Eagles lone win came against NC Wesleyan (94-50) on Nov. 15.
  • The Eagles have dropped eight in a row and are 0-8 on the road.
  • Opposing teams are averaging 76.7 per game against the Eagles, while Winthrop is averaging just 50.2 per game.
  • Kayla Brown paces the Eagles with 10.7 ppg, appearing in just seven games.
  • Seven different players are averaging five-plus points per game.
  • Opponents are shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 32.7 from behind the arc against the Eagles.
  • Winthrop is averaging 21.1 turnovers per game.
  • The Eagles have been outscored 391-254 in the first half.
