RADFORD TRAVELS TO LONGWOOD TUESDAY FOR IN-STATE BATTLE

SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford avoided dropping three straight Big South games for the first time since Jan. 23-30, 2016 with a comeback 61-56 overtime decision at Charleston Southern on Saturday.
  • After watching its once double-digit lead slip away, Radford ended regulation on a 6-2 swing to force overtime, starting the five-minute period on a 12-3 swing.
  • Longwood enters the game dropping six out of its last seven games.
  • The Lancers picked up a 66-56 win over Presbyterian in their league home opener on Jan. 6, which marked the first win by Longwood since Dec. 13.
  • Holding a 3-12 record, all three of Longwood's wins have come inside Willett Hall.
  • Radford collected only its second road win on Saturday.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • In the all-time series, Radford holds a 25-13 edge, while going 9-5 in games played in Farmville.
  • Radford owns a six-game winning streak in the all-time series with the last loss coming on Feb. 22, 2014 in a 76-70 road decision.

  • The Highlanders held the Buccaneers to zero points on 0 for 17 shooting to open the game. Radford's defense held the Bucs to a 17.2 shooting clip in the first half.
  • Playing its first overtime game of the 2017-18 season, Radford improves to 6-1 in overtime games under head coach Mike McGuire.
  • Taking the five-point victory, the Highlanders are 24-11 in games decided by five-points or less under McGuire.
  • The win was the 75th of McGuire's career.
  • Radford is 18-4 in the last 47 games when holding opponents under 60 points.
  • Radford had two players finished with double-doubles Saturday for the third time on the season and second in Big South play.
  • Jayda Worthy led the team with 16 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. She was the last Highlander to lead the team in all three categories, coming against Winthrop on Jan. 7, 2017.
  • The 14 rebounds by Worthy match a career best set on Feb. 5, 2015 at Coastal Carolina.
  • Lydia Rivers followed with 11 points and 10 rebounds for her third double-double on the season.
  • Worthy now has 14 career double-doubles, while Rivers picked up her fifth.
  • Rivers now has six games with double-digit rebounds. Finishing with three blocks, she also has five games with three-plus blocks.
  • Janayla White finished with 12 rebounds for her 36th career game with double-digit rebounds.
  • The last time Radford had three players grab double-digit rebounds was Dec. 4, 2016 at Appalachian State.
  • Destinee Walker finished a rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 15 points to give her 29 points in two league games on the week.
  • Radford pulled down a season-high 61 rebounds, including 24 offensive boards, turning them into 16 second-chance points.
  • The Highlanders have outrebounded opponents in six games on the season, totaling 40-plus in four games.
  • Radford has dished out double-figure assists in the last nine games with five-games of 15-plus assists on the season.

  • Tallying 30 blocks on the season, Rivers is 47th in the country with 20.0 blocks per game and the Highlanders rank 31st with 5.1 per game.
  • Defensively, Radford ranks 50th in the country by holding opposing teams to 58.3 points per game. Opponents are only shooting 29.2 percent from downtown against Radford.
 
SCOUTING LONGWOOD
  • Averaging 56.5 ppg, Longwood has only scored 70-plus points in two games.
  • Opponents are averaging 70.5 per game, scoring 70-plus in seven games.
  • Longwood possesses a 32.9 field goal percentage, while opponents are shooting 42.5 percent.
  • Autumn Childress is almost averaging a double-double for the Lancers with 9.7 ppg and 10.3 rpg.
  • Childress ranks 21st in the country in rebounds per game and 20th with 7.6 defensive rebounds per game.
