SETTING THE STAGE
  • The 2017-18 Radford squad will play Tuesday for more program history as the Highlanders enter the game with 21 straight home wins.
  • In a 78-52 win over Winthrop on Jan. 2, Radford matched a program record in consecutive home wins, set during a span from 1983 to 1984.
  • Radford's current streak started on Feb. 9, 2016 in a 54-51 decision over Gardner-Webb.
  • The Highlanders last home loss came against UNC Asheville on Jan. 30, 2016.
  • Radford ranks third nationally in longest home winning streak.
  • The Big South's record belongs to Liberty with 24 straight, spanning from 2002 to 2004.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Highlanders and Bulldogs meet in a rematch of the 2017 Big South Tournament Championship. UNC Asheville won its second straight title with a 49-48 comeback victory after Radford led for 37 minutes.
  • A season ago, Radford swept the regular season meetings, earning victories in overtime and double overtime affairs.
  • Radford leads the all-time series 50-22, including a 28-6 clip in games played inside the Dedmon Center.
 
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Radford is coming off a 69-53 loss at Gardner-Webb on Saturday after racing out to a 10-4 lead to start the contest, all coming from Jayda Worthy.
  • Worthy has tallied four straight double-figure performances, totaling 73 points on 30 of 51 shooting from the field. The senior has eight double-digit showings on the season.
  • The senior made a season-high and individual team-high 10 field goals.
  • Worthy's 10 field goals are the most by a Highlander since Destinee Walker made 11 at Presbyterian on Jan. 31, 2017.
  • Recording back-to-back 20-point performances, Worthy scored 41 points on 19 of 31 shooting, giving her five career 20-point games.
  • Now leading the team with 12.3 points per game, Worthy is eighth in the league and ranks third with a 54.2 field goal percentage.
  • Worthy also finished with seven rebounds, giving her 644 in her career to move into 58th in Big South history.
  • Finishing with 11 points, Walker has now scored double-figures in four out of the last five games.
  • After shooting 57.1 percent from the field in the strong second quarter, Radford finished with a 37.7 field goal percentage, ending a streak to two straight 40-percent shooting games.
  • The Highlanders have shot over 40-percent in five out of the last seven games.
  • Lydia Rivers pulled down 10 rebounds for her fifth double-digit game on the season to give her 114 boards on the season.
  • Rivers ranks 90th nationally with 8.8 rebounds per game, Rivers is second in the league with 3.2 offensive rebounds per game and 5.5 defense rebounds per game.
  • Tallying 24 blocks on the season, Rivers is 65th in the country with 1.9 blocks per game and the Highlanders rank 27th with 5.3 per game.
  • After dishing out 20-plus assists in the last two games, Radford only assisted on 10 field goals at Gardner-Webb
  • Claudia Quevedo maintains her 3.2 assists per game and ranks 44th nationally with a 2.41 assist-to-turnover ratio.
  • In the last five games, Radford has assisted on 113 of 181 made field goals.
  • Four different Highlanders have assisted on 20-plus field goals.
  • Radford's offense committed a season-low six turnovers, while only forcing eight Gardner-Webb miscues. The six turnovers are the lowest by the Highlanders since a Feb. 21, 2017 matchup at Gardner-Webb, when Radford committed seven.
  • Holding a +2.9 turnover margin, Radford is averaging 14.4 per game, while forcing 17.3 per game.
  • Moving their feet on defense, the Highlanders have only committed 177 fouls, which ranks third in the nation, while committing only 13.6 per game for 11th best.
  • Defensively, Radford ranks 46th in the country by holding opposing teams to 57.8 points per game. Opponents are only shooting 29.5 percent from downtown against Radford to rank 89th nationally.
  • Janayla White closes in becoming the third player in program history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. White needs 100 points and 176 rebounds to cross the plateau.
 
SCOUTING UNC ASHEVILLE
  • After dropping its first six games of the season, UNC Asheville collected its first win over a NCAA Division I opponent on Dec. 16. Since then, the Bulldogs are 3-2.
  • Despite the 4-9 record, UNC Asheville only has a -2.5 scoring margin as the Bulldogs are averaging 61.4 per game, while opponents are scoring 63.9 per game.
  • Opponents are shooting 44.8 percent from the floor and 34.4 from behind the arc.
  • The Bulldogs are pulling down 35.8 rebounds per game, edging opponents' 33.5 per game.
  • Bronaza Fitzgerald leads the team with 12.5 ppg and 8.7 rebounds per game.
  • Fitzgerald holds a 56.0 shooting clip, making 56 of 100 attempts.
  • Pulling down 50 offensive rebounds, Fitzgerald ranks 21st in the country with 4.2 offensive rebounds per game.
  • Khaila Webb follows Fitzgerald with 11.5 ppg, making 38 of 45 attempts from the free throw line for an 84.4 clip.
  • Averaging 9.8 ppg, Jessica Wall is shooting 38.9 from behind the arc, making 35 of 90 attempts.
  • UNC Asheville leads the Big South with 166 made free throws, compiling a 63.6 percentage.
  • As a team, UNC Asheville is averaging 9.9 assists per game with Webb and Wall averaging 2.6 per game.
