HIGHLANDER UPDATE
Radford ran into a hot-shooting Morehead State squad and fell to the Eagles, 79-72, on Saturday afternoon at the Dedmon Center. Highlander senior forward Destinee Walker led the hosts with a career-high 23 points (8-of-13 shooting, 3-of-7 from 3-pt range) and added a season-best eight boards. She is now just 29 points shy of becoming the 24th Highlander to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. Redshirt junior forward Lydia Rivers, who in the first quarter became just the 16th member of Radford's 600 career rebound club, produced her second double-double of the season with 11 points and a game-high 13 caroms. Redshirt junior guard Jen Falconer hit 5-of-8 field goal attempts en route to a season-high 12 points.

Walker has reached double-figures in scoring in seven straight contests and is 5th in the Big South in the department at 14.3 ppg.

Rivers is 53rd in the country in blocks per game (1.8) and is tied for 66th in rebounds per game (9.5). She is currently 2nd in the conference in rebounding and is second in rejections.

JR center Savannah Felgemacher is leading the league in rebounding 12.5 pg. (7th in NCAA) and is ninth in scoring at 13.8 ppg.

Radford is continuing to build on their tradition of great defensive play as they are currently allowing just 59.4 points per game, which is 92nd in the NCAA. The Highlanders are limiting opponents to a .367 percent clip from the field (85th in NCAA) and .261 percent shooting from behind the arc (48th in NCAA). 

Head Coach Mike McGuire is one win away from 200 for his collegiate career and is six wins shy of 100 at Radford.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
VCU has lost two straight after opening 6-2 on the season. Two of their notable wins have come against Wake Forest and Georgetown.

The Rams are coming off a 60-57 loss at Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon. 

Tera Reed is averaging a team-high 11.7 ppg. and Taya Robinson is just behind her at 11.1 ppg. Robinson is also pulling down a team-best 5.1 rpg.

VCU is averaging 59.7 ppg. but are limiting their opponents to just 52.6 ppg. and rank 17thin the country in the category. Their foes are shooting just .314 overall and .243 from behind the arc.
