HIGHLANDER UPDATE
Radford will close out the non-conference season with a road contest at Mount St. Mary's. The two programs have not met since 2009. Radford is 2-7 all-time against the Mountaineers.

LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt junior center Sydney Nunley enjoyed a career-game to help lift the host Radford women's basketball squad to a 60-46 victory against the Shepherd Rams on Saturday afternoon at the Dedmon Center.

Nunley, making her first start of the season, converted 8-of-11 field goal attempts en route to 19 points along with a career-best 14 rebounds.

Redshirt junior forward Lydia Rivers contributed 10 points and eight rebounds while junior guard Khiana Johnson was also in double-figures with 15 points, just one off her season-high.  Senior forward Destinee Walker contributed a season-high 10 caroms and added six points, leaving her just four points shy of 1,000 career points.

The Highlanders trailed 38-37 entering the fourth quarter but opened the frame on a 10-1 run to grab a 47-39 lead with 6:28 remaining in the contest.

CHASING 1,000
Walker can become the 24th Highlander in women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points as she is just four points shy of the accomplishment. Walker has reached double-figures in scoring in eight of her last nine contests.

RIVERS AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS
Rivers is 91st in the country in blocks per game (1.5) and is 53rd in rebounds per game (9.4). She is currently 2nd in the conference in rebounding and is second in rejections. She needs just four points to reach 500 for her career.

DEFENSIVE MINDED
Radford is continuing to build on their tradition of great defensive play as they are currently allowing just 57.0 points per game, which is 51st in the NCAA. The Highlanders are limiting opponents to a .360 percent clip from the field (58th in NCAA) and .254 percent shooting from behind the arc (27th in NCAA).

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Mount fell to UMES, 86-73, in their last contest on December 20 at Knott Arena. The visitors went on an 11-0 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away.

The Mountaineers were on a four-game winning streak before falling to Virginia Tech and UMES.

The Mount averages 66.7 points per game are yielding 72.4 points per contest.

Juliette Lawless is averaging a team-high 17.7 points per game while Rebecca Lee is grabbing a team-best 8.2 rebounds per night.

UP NEXT
Radford will open the Big South slate with a home contest against UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon.
