RADFORD FACES HIGH POINT TUESDAY IN LAST ROAD CONTEST



GAME INFORMATION
SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford (20-7, 13-3) has now won 20 games for the second straight season, marking the first time the Highlanders have won 20-plus games in back-to-back seasons since 2006-07 and 2007-08.
  • Winning eight straight, Radford can set a program record in conference wins if the Highlanders sweep both games on the week.
  • During the 2014-15 season, Radford won 14 Big South games, but played a 20-game schedule with Coastal Carolina still in the league.
  • The Highlanders sit one-game out of first place in the conference standings behind Liberty (14-2) with two games remaining.
  • High Point (16-11, 10-6) is 5-3 in home Big South games. The Panthers will be playing their final home of the season as the game will serve as Senior Day for three players.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • High Point has had Radford's number of late as the Highlanders picked up only their sixth win in the last 15 meetings with a 50-47 comeback victory on Jan. 23.
  • In the comeback win, Radford trailed by as many as 10 points multiple times in the first half. The Highlanders outscored High Point 38-27 over the final three quarters.
  • Destinee Walker chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, while Jayda Worthy followed with 14 of her own.
  • The Panthers hold a 27-19 edge in the all-time series with a 17-5 clip on its home floor.
  • Radford's last win inside the Millis Center came on Jan. 26, 2013 in a 64-55 decision.
 
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Defeating the last two opponents by 40 or more points, Radford settled for a 24-point victory, improving its winning streak to eight straight with a 64-50 victory at Presbyterian on Saturday.
  • With two victories of 40-plus points in the last three games, Radford's average margin of victory during the stretch is 35.4 points.
  • On the season, Radford has five victories decided by 25-plus points, including three wins by 35-plus points in Big South play.
  • Radford shot over 50 percent for the second straight game as the Highlanders were 27 of 52 from the field, picking up their fourth game with a 50-percent field goal percentage or better.
  • The Highlanders have shot over 40-percent in 10 out of the last 13 games.
  • Radford added 40 points in the paint on Saturday, scoring 130 of its last 215 points inside.
  • On fire over the last three weeks, senior forward Janayla White was named the Big South's Player of the Week for the third consecutive week on Monday, marking the fifth time she has won it in her career.
  • In two dominating Big South victories, White averaged 20.5 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 blocks per game and 1.5 assists per game. White was 19 for 21 from the field, turning in a 90.5 shooting clip.
  • In the last five games, White has tallied 89 points on 30 of 41 shooting, missing only three shots in her last 25 attempts.
  • With at least three guaranteed games remaining in her career, White is 53 rebounds from becoming the third player in program history and the eighth in league history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
  • With a six-block effort against Presbyterian Saturday, White became the second player in program history and the 10th in Big South history with 200 career blocks.
  • Entering Saturday's game needing 20 points to move into eighth all-time in scoring, Jayda Worthy did just that as the senior finished 8 for 12 from the field for her third 20-point game on the season. She now has six in her career, marking the seventh 20-point performance by a Highlander this season.
  • Worthy is tied with Corrie Fertitta in eighth with 1,215 career points.
  • Making eight field goals, Worthy is four from moving inside the Top 5 in career made field goals.
  • During Radford's blistering 13-game stretch, three opponents have been held under 40 points, while holding 12 out of the last 13 under 60 points. Eight have been limited under 50 points.
  • The Highlanders have only allowed 60-plus points in three of 16 league games, all coming as losses.
  • Radford is 29-4 in the last 59 games when holding opposing teams under 60 points, including a 17-1 mark on the season. The Highlanders are 11-1 when holding them under 50 points.
  • The Highlander defense is holding Big South foes to 49.7 points per game, while ranking sixth nationally with a 52.8 scoring defense.
  • In the last 14 games, 12 opponents have been held below 40 percent shooting as the Highlanders rank second in the league with a 35.7 field goal defense, which is 16th in the country.
  • Radford leads the Big South with opposing teams shooting only 33.4 percent against the Highlanders in league games.
  • Since allowing a season-high 10 3-pointers to Presbyterian in the first meeting, Radford has limited opponents to a 39 for 161 clip from beyond the arc.
  • The Highlanders also rank 17th nationally with a 27.5 three-point field goal percentage defense.
  • Offensively, Radford has shot over 40 percent in 10 out of the last 13 games. The Highlanders possess a 42.2 field goal percentage, while shooting 45.5 in league games to rank second both categories.
 
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
  • Since falling to Radford on Jan. 23, High Point is 4-5 in Big South play. The Panthers entered the first meeting with a 6-0 conference clip.
  • After dropping three straight inside the Millis Center, High Point has won its last three games, holding an 8-5 record at home.
  • High Point is one of three Big South teams with two players inside the Top 10 in scoring. Emma Bockrath is sixth with 13.4 ppg, while Kat Harris follows in 10th place with 11.4 per game.
  • Bockrath is also fifth in the league with 7.0 boards per game.
  • The Panthers possess the best scoring offense in the league, averaging 66.1 per game, but give up 61.6 on defense.
  • With five players attempting 50-plus free throws and shooting better than 73-percent from the charity stripe, High Point owns the league's second best free throw shooting team. High Point is 72.7 percent from the free throw line.
  • The Panthers have dished out only two more assists than the Highlanders, averaging a league best 13.5 per game. High Point has four players with 50-plus assists on the season.
  • Defensively, High Point has allowed 60-plus points four times in the last 10 games with three coming as losses.

  • Radford returns home Saturday to honor Janayla White, Jayda Worthy, Claudia Quevedo and Jordan Toohey as they play their final game inside the Dedmon Center.
  • The Highlanders will host Campbell in the final home for the second straight season.
  • Action is slated for a 2 p.m., start.
  • Radford needed overtime for a 51-50 comeback victory over Campbell in the first meeting on Jan. 30.
  • A season ago, Radford defeated Campbell 49-48 on Feb. 27 to win the Big South Regular Season Championship.
