RADFORD T&F STRONG ACROSS THE BOARD AT WINTER RELAYS

LEXINGTON, Va. – Whether it was sprints, distance, jumps or throws, the Radford Track & Field team consistently posted personal records on the first day of VMI's Winter Relays at the Corps Physical Training Facility on Friday.

Freshman Amelia Reynolds continued her strong indoor season with another PR in the 60-meter dash, beating her time of 7.83 seconds at the Keydet Invitational with a run of 7.76 seconds in the semis to advance to tomorrow's finals. Sophomore La'Tisha Chambers also posted a personal record in the event thanks to a time of 7.79 seconds.

The 60-meter hurdles has been a strong event for the Highlanders all season and Friday was no different. Freshman Alaina Pagliaro and sophomore Tenae Washington ran times of 9.18 seconds and 9.23 seconds respectively to advance to the semifinals. It was a season-best of .20 seconds for Washington.

The high jumping duo of freshman Taylor Tinsley and sophomore Alexis Walton each cleared 1.61 meters (5'3.25") on Friday to finish fourth and seventh respectively. It was a personal record for Tinsley who moves up to fourth in the Big South's women's high jump ranks this season.

Sophomore Anastasia Kramer delivered a huge PR in the weight throw, reaching a distance of 13.88 meters (45'6.75"). The performance destroys her previous best of 12.54 meters from the Liberty Kickoff last month.

Capping Radford's day full of personal bests, freshman distance runner Annsley Eckert easily ran the best 5,000-meter run of her career with a time of 18:18.52. The time is a full 19 seconds better than her time of 18:37 from the Liberty Kickoff and is just behind Caroline Ratterree's 2012 time of 18:17.54 that ranks 10th in school history.

The Highlanders head back to VMI for the second and final day of their Winter Relays tomorrow. The mile kicks off the track events at 10:25 a.m. while the long jump marks the start of women's field events at 12:30 p.m.
