SETTING THE STAGE
  • The Highlanders close out their six-game stretch of games in the state of Virginia when they take on Fresno State on Thursday
  • Fresno State is also the final game of non-conference play, giving Radford one final tune-up before the battle for the Big South begins
  • The Bulldogs traveled all the way from California to play three games on the East Coast. They have already defeated Wofford (23-3) and Presbyterian College (20-10)

SERIES HISTORY
  • Radford and Fresno State have never met in women's lacrosse
  • The Highlanders just faced a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for the first time ever on Monday, taking on UC Davis in Harrisonburg, Va.

  • Record: 3-5
  • The team ranks top-10 in the nation with 12.63 caused turnovers per game and 22.13 ground balls per game
  • Radford has learned to capitalize after yellow cards, scoring eight man-up goals and a conference-leading four goals
  • Sophomore goalie Jenny Davis ranks in the top half of the Big South for goals against average (12.95), save percentage (.460) and saves per game (10.88)
  • After sophomore Haley Harris scored her first goal of the season on Monday, the Highlanders have nine different scorers this season

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
  • Record: 7-4
  • Founded in 2009, the Fresno State women's lacrosse program posted its first winning season in 2017 with a 9-7 record
  • With seven wins this season, 2018 is already the second winningest season in program history
  • The Bulldogs have won three of their last four games, posting a combined score of 73-28 against Delaware State, Albany, Wofford and Presbyterian
  • They have been excellent on the road, going 5-1 away from Fresno, Calif.
  • As a team, the Bulldogs have a .470 shot percentage compared to .396 for opponents. They also take advantage of free position attempts, posting a .541 FP percentage compared to just .354 by opposing teams
  • Fresno State is led by junior attacker Sarah Bloise, who has amassed 30 goals and 13 assists for 43 points. Sophomore attacker Tiffany Wallace is just as dangerous, ranking second on the team with 27 goals and seven assists
  • Sophomore defender Olivia Mannon has been phenomenal as well, leading the team in draw controls (55), ground balls (26) and caused turnovers (24)
  • Playing the majority of minutes in the cage, sophomore Laurel Maunder has 77 saves and a .494 save percentage while allowing only 9.43 goals per game

  • The Highlanders begin conference play against preseason Big South favorite High Point this Saturday, March 31st at 3 p.m.
  • The Panthers sit atop the standings with a record of 5-2 and will complete their non-conference schedule with a home game against Drexel on Wednesday
