LACROSSE RETURNS TO CUPP; HOSTS BUTLER SATURDAY

SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford returns to the New River Valley to play its second home game of the season and the first since dropping an 11-15 decision to Robert Morris on Feb. 23
  • The Highlanders are coming off a 1-1 Spring Break trip to New York where they topped LIU Brooklyn, 15-13, and came up just short in an 11-14 loss at Columbia
  • Butler is still searching for its first win in 2018 after beginning the season 0-5

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 2-2 (0-0 Big South)
  • Radford is looking to secure its first home victory of the season. The team went 5-4 in front of its home fans last season
  • Through four games, the Highlanders rank second in the Big South with 12.5 goals per game thanks to a conference-leading .459 shot percentage
  • Radford also leads the league in ground balls per game with 25.25
  • Junior midfielder Callie Bonnel scored a career-high six goals against Columbia. She ranks second in the Big South with 3.25 goals per game
  • Radford boasts two of the top three man-up scorers in the conference. Junior attacker Adrian Rius and sophomore attacker Lindsey Carroll have three and two goals respectively
  • Sophomore goalie Jenny Davis leads the Big South with a 12.5 goals against average and a .495 save percentage
  • Eight different Highlanders have scored this season, ranging from Bonnel's 13 goals to sophomore attacker Amanda Paino's three goals. Eight different players have recorded at least one assist as well

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
  • Record: 0-5 (0-0 Big East)
  • The 2018 campaign is only Butler's second as a program
  • The Bulldogs were picked to finish 10th in the Big East Preseason Coaches' Poll
  • Butler has been outscored by a combined tally of 87-30 in its five season-opening losses
  • Redshirt junior midfielder Halley Hallenbeck leads the team with eight goals and four assists for 12 points
  • Sophomore Haley Rayburn and freshman Amanda Rumsey have split time in the cage. Rayburn leads the way with 36 saves and a .396 save percentage
  • The Bulldogs have placed 80-percent of their shots on goal, but they've only gotten off 19.0 shots per game compared to 34.4 shot attempts per game by opponents
  • Sophomore midfielder Christina Soderquist takes on primary draw control responsibilities, coming down with a team-leading 18 this season

  • The Highlanders have FIVE more home games at Cupp Stadium in the month of March
  • Colgate is the next opponent to come to town. They'll face off with Radford on Tuesday, March 13th at 4 p.m.
