SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
- Gardner-Webb (27-20, 8-7 Big South) enters the weekend winning seven of its last 10 contests including two series wins over Charleston Southern and Winthrop.
- The Runnin' Bulldogs have a 22-11 record at home, but are 4-6 when playing on the road.
- GWU has one of the top offenses in the nation and the top offense in the Big South. Hitting .315 as a team, the Runnin' Bulldogs rank 28th in the country in that category and lead the Big South with 379 hits.
- A big part of that is freshman Katie Prebble, who was recently named one of the 25 finalists for Schutt Sports/NFCA Freshman of the Year.
- She ranks first in the country in home runs per game averaging one per two games played (0.48) and RBIs per game (1.41).
- The freshman also leads the nation in slugging percentage (1.031), home runs (21) and RBIs (66).
- The Runnin' Bulldogs boast the nation's leader in hits as Andria Booth has 77. She has scored a team-high 44 runs as well.
- The Achilles heel for GWU is their pitching, which ranks second to last in the Big South.
- They have given up a conference-high 400 hits, allowed 261 runs to score and opponents are hitting .314 against them.
