HIGHLANDER UPDATE
Radford will begin a difficult stretch of three games in five days with a home contest against High Point on Tuesday evening. Radford is 13-10 all-time against the Panthers at the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders will travel to Hampton on Thursday before returning home for Winthrop on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Highlanders won their third straight Big South opener as they defeated UNC Asheville, 60-46 on Saturday. The Highlanders held the visitors to a 27.4 shooting clip as UNCA connected on just 17-of-62 field goal attempts. Senior guard/forward Destinee Walker, who was honored prior to the contest as Radford's newest member of the 1,000 Point Club, scored 16 points, corralled a career-high 13 rebounds and added three steals in a 40-minute effort. Redshirt junior center Sydney Nunley continued her fine play as she produced her third straight double-double with 10 points and a career-best 15 rebounds. Classmate Khiana Johnson, who also logged all 40 minutes, was also in double-digits with 12 points and dished a career-high seven assists.

WALKER HITS A GRAND 
Walker became the 24th Highlander to join the 1,000 Point Club at Mount St. Mary's last Wednesday evening. Walker has reached double-figures in scoring in ten of 12 contests this season. She is currently 6th in the league in scoring at 13.8 pg. and is also tied for 18th in rebounding at 6.8 pg.
 
NUNLEY NAMED BIG SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nunley has enjoyed a spectacular three-game stretch filling in for the injured Savannah Felgemacher at the center position and was rewarded with the Big South Player of the Week. The redshirt junior averaged 17.0 points, 13.3 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and a steal per game. Nunley, who converted 50 percent (18-of-36) of her field goal attempts, produced three double-doubles in leading the Highlanders to a 2-1 record.  The Lewisburg, West Virginia native native scored 10 points and produced career-highs in rebounds (15) and blocks (5) in Radford's Big South victory against UNCA on January 5. She opened her run with 19 points (8-of-11 fga) and 14 rebounds in a victory against Shepherd on December 29. The 6-foot-4 pivot followed that up with a career-best 22 points and snared 11 rebounds at Mount St. Mary's on January 2.
 
RIVERS AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS
Rivers is 63rd in the country in rebounding (9.1 pg.) and is also tied for 101 (1.45 pg.) in blocks. She leads the conference in rebounding and is tied for fourth in rejections. Rivers also scored her 500th career point at Mount St. Mary's last Wednesday evening.

DEFENSIVE MINDED
Radford is continuing to build on their tradition of great defensive play as they are currently allowing just 58.8 points per game, which is 74th in the NCAA. The Highlanders are limiting opponents to a .363 percent clip from the field (94th in NCAA) and .301 percent shooting from behind the arc (128th in NCAA). 

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
High Point cruised to an 87-61 victory at USC Upstate on Saturday as five players were in double-figures. Emma Bockrath scored a team-high 17 points and added eight boards and seven assists…Bockrath is tied for second in the league in scoring (17.0 ppg.), is 7th in rebounding (7.1 pg.) and is tied for second in steals per game (3.2)…The Panthers are averaging a league-high 72.9 ppg. and are outscoring their opponents by an average of 9.3 points per game. They also lead the league in field goal percentage (.423) and free throw percentage (.706).

Radford will travel to Hampton on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
