Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

RADFORD FALLS TO HIGH POINT ON SATURDAY

HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Radford women's soccer team fell to High Point, 3-0, on Saturday night at Vert Stadium.

Both teams fired shots back and forth in the first half. Radford took four, including one penalty kick within the first 10 minutes of the match. The penalty kick was saved by the Panther goalkeeper. The Highlanders only took three more attempts in the half.

High Point took six shots in the first half. Kaplan made four saves through the first 45 minutes and looked to keep the shutout intact heading into the locker room. That changed in the 44th minute when Emma Schossler gave the Panthers the lead heading into the half.

Schossler extended the lead just four minutes into the second half with her second goal of the contest. That put the Highlanders in a 2-0 hole with the majority of the final half to play.

Radford was not able to keep possession for most of the half and could only get one shot attempt. The shot by Izzy Armstrong was on frame but saved by Talia Klimes - her fourth of the night.

High Point's Alex Palmer ended the match with a free kick goal from just inside midfield in the 83rd minute. That was the final shot of the match for either team.

Gabi Paupst took two of the five shots for Radford and both were on frame. Four of the five shots landed on target. Defensively, Courtenay Kaplan recorded six saves.
