BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Radford men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Phoenix Invitational Monday at Alamance Country Club. The Highlanders sit in 12th place after shooting a 287 (3-over) in the first round and a 288 (4-over) in the second round.
Peter Gasperini led the Highlanders on the opening day with a pair of rounds under par to place in a tie for ninth. The redshirt senior opened the day with a 3-under 68 in the first round, then followed that with a 1-under 70 in round two.
Hunter Duncan had identical rounds of even-par 71 to place inside the top 30 for Radford, while
Tyler Hull had a 1-under 70 in the second round to move up into a tie for 44th after being outside the top 75 following the first round.
Overall, Drexel leads the field at 13-under and has a one-shot lead over Gardner-Webb. The Runnin' Bulldogs surged up the leaderboard with a second-round score of 15-under. Gardner-Webb's Jake Scruggs is the individual leader at 13-under, following a second round where he shot a 10-under 61.
