RADFORD, Va.- The Highlanders will make their way to Morehead Ky. to take on the Eagles of Morehead State on Saturday, Nov. 30th at noon.
Radford just played their home opener a few days before the holiday versus Mount St. Mary's (Md.). The Mount left the Dedmon Center with the victory, 75-58 over the Highlanders. The loss snapped a perfect 6-0 record in home opener victories for Radford in the McGuire era but not all was lost. Tina Lindenfeld posted a career high in points at 11 and tied her career high for three-pointers made. To end the contest she tallied a pair of rebounds, assists, and a steal while shooting impressive percentages from the field and behind the arc. Bryonna McClean notched her second career start in this contest as well. The Highlanders had three in double digits in Sydney Nunley (11pts) and Amele Ngwafang (10pts), including Lindenfeld.Â

This is the 11th meeting between the two teams, with the first matchup coming in 1997. Last season, the Eagles defeated the Highlanders by seven. In the last contest, Destinee Walker scored a career-high 23 points and Lydia Rivers joined the 600 rebound club. Morehead State took the win over Radford in the Dedmon Center, 79-72. The loss pushed the Highlanders to 4-4 to begin te 2018-19 season. The Eagles were led by Mckenzie Calvert and Miranda Crockett who both cracked 20 points. Calvert posted a game high 27 points. For the Highlanders, Walkers 23 paced the Rad- ford offense. She was joined by Jen Falconer and Lydia Rivers with 12 and 11 points.
A Radford win would give the Highlanders a one game advantage in the All-Time series and redeem last season's loss. A Radford loss would in turn give Morehead State back-to-back victories over Radford and put the Highlanders on a two-game losing streak.Â
As a team the Highlanders are ranked nationally in various categories, even cracking the top-200 programs in some. Individually, Radford has three that are making their mark on a national scale.
