THE SERIES
Radford leads the all-time series 16-10 and have won six of the last seven contests.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Radford held USC Upstate to just 12 second-half points and ran away from the Spartans, 82-41, on Saturday afternoon at the G.B. Hodge Center. The Highlanders, who have won six straight contests, improved to 8-1 in the Big South for the first time since the 2014-2015 campaign. In addition, Radford moved into sole possession of first-place in the conference standings by virtue of Hampton's loss at High Point.
 
Redshirt junior forward Lydia Rivers tied her season-high in points (17) and rebounds (16) and also grabbed her 700th career board late in the first half. Junior guard Khiana Johnson added 16 points and distributed a career-best 10 assists while senior guard/forward Destinee Walker contributed 12 points, six rebounds and a career-high six steals.  Freshman guard Makaila Wilson was also in double-digits with 10 points off the bench.

The Highlanders held USC Upstate (6-14, 2-7 BSC) to a 29.2 percent shooting clip as the Spartans were just 19-of-65, including 0-18 from behind the arc.

RADFORD AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS
Radford is 12th in the county in scoring defense (54.9 ppg.), 15th in rebounds per game (43.5), 13th in field goal percentage defense (34.8 percent) and 10th in three-point field goal defense (25.8 percent)…Rivers continues to lead the Big South in rebounding (10.1 pg.) and is 36th in the country…Redshirt junior center Sydney Nunley is also 59th in rebounding (9.1).

HIGHLANDER MISCELLANEOUS
The Highlanders hold a +17.6 scoring advantage against league foes on average and lead the league in the category…Radford is allowing just 48.7 ppg. in league contests…Conference opponents are shooting just 22 percent from behind the arc…Radford has held 35 of 53 opponents under 60 points over the past two seasons…The Highlanders are 13-0 when outshooting their opponent and 13-1 when they hold opponents under a 40 percent shooting clip this season… Junior guard Khiana Johnson needs 27 points to reach 800 for her career…She is 2nd in the league in assists (5.1 pg.) in league contests…Redshirt JR forward Lydia Rivers leads the league with eight double-doubles…Senior guard/forward Destinee Walker is now up to 1,133 points for her career and needs 67 points to move into the top-ten all-time at Radford…She has reached double-digits in scoring in 18-of-20 contests…Redshirt junior guard Jen Falconer leads the conference with a 2.3 assists/turnover ratio in league contests.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Gardner-Webb has dropped two of their last three contests, both of which came in overtime at Hampton and Longwood…Carley Plentovich is 7th in the conference in scoring (14.7 ppg.) and is 2nd in 3-point field goal per game (2.6)…Gabrielle Caponegro is 8th in rebounding (7.2 pg.).
