THE SERIES
The Highlanders have won five of their last six meetings against the Panthers, including an 80-58 triumph at the Dedmon Center on January 8th.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Three Highlanders recorded double-doubles as Radford defeated the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, 79-69, on Tuesday evening at the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders, who have now won seven straight contests, remained in first place with a record of 9-1 in the Big South and upped their overall mark to 15-6. Senior guard/forward Destinee Walker scored a game-high 19 points, grabbed 11 boards and went a career-best 9-of-9 from the free throw line. Redshirt junior forward Lydia Rivers, who scored her 600th career point, picked up her league-leading ninth double-double with 14 points and a game-high 15 boards.  Junior guard Khiana Johnson contributed 16 points and handed out a game-high six assists and redshirt junior forward Savannah Felgemacher returned to the lineup and posted 12 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. Redshirt junior center Sydney Nunley (13 points, 2 blocks) came up a rebound shy of a double-double.

RADFORD AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS
At 9-1, the Highlanders are off to their best Big South start since the 1991-1992 season...Radford is 18th in the county in scoring defense (55.5 ppg.), 15th in rebounds per game (44.0), 14th in field goal percentage defense (35.0 percent) and 10th in three-point field goal defense (25.8 percent)…Rivers continues to lead the Big South in rebounding (10.3 pg.) and is 31st in the country…Nunley, who is second in the league with 9.1 rpg., is 61st in the nation.

HIGHLANDER MISCELLANEOUS
The Highlanders are allowing only 50.7 ppg. in league contests…Conference opponents are shooting just 22 percent from behind the arc…Radford has held 35 of 54 opponents under 60 points over the past two seasons and they have held foes under 40 percent shooting 39 times…The Highlanders are 14-0 when outshooting their opponent and 14-1 (Virginia Tech) when they hold opponents under a 40 percent shooting clip this season… Johnson needs 11 points to reach 800 for her career…She is 2nd in the league in assists (5.2 pg.) in league contests…Rivers leads the league with nine double-doubles and is now 10th all-time at Radford with 725 career boards.…Walker is now up to 1,152 points for her career and needs just 48 points to move into the Top 10 all-time at Radford…Walker is 9th in the league in scoring (13.7 pg.), 11th in rebounding (7.0 pg.), 14th in assists (2.6 pg.) and 13th in steals (1.5 pg.)…She is just one of two players in the conference to rank in the Top 15 in all four major categories…Redshirt junior guard Jen Falconer is second in the conference with a 1.9 assists/turnover ratio in league contests…The Highlanders are averaging 21.8 free throw attempts per game at home versus 15.6 pg. on the road.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
High Point will enter the contest on a five-game winning streak and have the exact same record as the Highlanders at 15-6…The Panthers are a perfect 11-0 on their home court this season…Emma Bockrath is averaging a team-high 16.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest…Lindsey Edwards (11.1 ppg.) and Camryn Brown (10.0) are also giving the Panthers good scoring production…High Point leads the Big South in scoring (71.4 ppg.) and own a league-best +8.8 margin of victory for the season.
 
LAST MEETING
The Highlanders reversed an eight-point second half deficit and pulled away from the Panthers, 80-58, on January 8th at the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders outscored the visitors by a 49-19 margin over the last 13 minutes of the contest. Nunley produced the Highlanders second 20-20 game of the season (Savannah Felgemacher, 21 points, 21 rebounds vs. South Carolina State). Nunley tied her career-high with 22 points and snared a career-best 20 rebounds on the evening. Nunley, who hit 9-of-16 field goal attempts, scored 15 points and secured 18 rebounds in the second half alone.

Walker also registered a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Walker went 7-for-17 from the floor and scored 13 points in the second half. Johnson was also in double-figures (14 points) and distributed a then career-high nine assists. Falconer added 11 points and a pair of steals.
 
UP NEXT
Radford will host Longwood next Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. It will be Play4Kay Day at the Dedmon Center.
