RADFORD WRAPS UP 49ER CLASSIC ON SATURDAY


 
DAY ONE RECAP

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
The first meet of the 2019 outdoor season – the 49er Classic – is officially complete for the Radford women's track and field team.
 
Sophomore Chancey Gunnell produced the Highlanders' top result for the second consecutive day. She placed 24th out of 105 in the 200-meter dash with a personal record time of 25.47 seconds. The first-year Highlanders also recorded a PR in the 100-meter dash yesterday.
 
Chloe Phillips, Kayland Bond, Ellie Look and Annsley Eckert teamed up to place sixth in the 4x800-meter relay. Another first-year Highlander, Kiara Price, got her feet wet in the javelin as well.
 
UP NEXT
The Highlanders are back at it next weekend with the Winthrop Adidas Invitational. The meet, which will take place in Rock Hill, S.C., is slated for both Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23.
