HIGHLANDERS TO CLOSE OUT HISTORIC REGULAR SEASON AT PRESBYTERIAN ON SATURDAY

WHAT'S AT STAKE
The Highlanders have already established new program records for most Big South wins in a season (16) and consecutive victories (14) and can add to their totals.

LAST TIME OUT 
Radford defeated the Hampton Pirates, 84-49, avenging their lone loss of the Big South Conference season on Wednesday evening at the Dedmon Center. Three different Highlanders produced double-doubles on the evening as Radford pulled away from the Pirates after trailing at the end of the opening quarter.  Redshirt-junior forward Lydia Rivers registered 16 points and 13 rebounds for her conference-leading twelfth double-double. Classmates Sydney Nunley (12 points, game-high 18 boards) and Savannah Felgemacher (10 points, 11 caroms) produced their eleventh and seventh double-doubles respectively. Senior guard/forward Destinee Walker scored a game-high 21 points and added five rebounds while junior guard Khiana Johnson contributed 11 points and five assists.Radford, who has now extended their program-record win streak to 14, held Hampton to just 20-of-69 shooting for a 29 percent clip and out-rebounded the Pirates by a 59-25 margin.
 
HIGHLANDER MISCELLANEOUS
Radford has won a single-season program record 16 Big South contests…The Highlanders will be the No. 1 seed in the Big South Tournament for the sixth time in their history... Radford continues to be one of the nation's top defensive squads in the country as they are yielding just 55.6 points per game, which is good for 15th in the country. The Highlanders are also 6th in the nation in 3-pt field goal defense (25 percent) and 8th in overall field goal percentage defense (34.4 percent) ...Rivers continues to lead the Big South in rebounding at 10.2 per game and is 36th in the NCAA in the category…Rivers is also 37thin the country with 12 double-doubles…She is now sixth all-time at Radford with 794 caroms...Nunley is 46th in the country at 9.5 rpg and is averaging a league-high 11.8 boards in conference play…Destinee Walker is now sixth on Radford's all-time scoring list with 1,262 points…The Highlanders have set a new school mark with 36 combined individual double-doubles this season…Radford is shooting 72 percent (103-of-144) from the line in the last five minutes of games this season. They have made 44 more free throws than their opponents in the last five minutes…Head Coach Mike McGuire is 105-51 (.673) over the last five seasons after going 7-23 during his first season.
 
LAST MEETING
Radford defeated the Presbyterian Blue Hose, 59-49, on Tuesday evening at the Dedmon Center. Junior redshirt forward Lydia Rivers secured her fourth consecutive double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in just 19 minutes of action as she was in foul trouble most of the evening. Senior guard/forward Destinee Walker also registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, her third of the campaign. Junior guard Khiana Johnson added 16 points and a team-high four assists, while redshirt junior center Sydney Nunley (10 boards, 5 blocks) was in double-figure rebounds for the ninth straight contest.

BLUE HOSE UPDATE
Presbyterian is coming off a 67-62 loss at Gardner-Webb on Wednesday evening. Trinity Johnson paced the Blue Hose with 18 points and Shamani Stafford added 16 points and five steals…The squad averages 57.2 ppg. and are yielding 66.8 ppg…Kacie Hall leads the team in scoring (13.8 ppg.) and Salina Virola is pulling down a team-best 8.4 rpg.

Radford will host a Big South Tournament quarterfinal contest on Thursday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m.
