HIGHLANDERS FINISH SIXTH AT 2019 BIG SOUTH MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Ninety Six, SC – The Radford men's golf team finished sixth at the 2019 Big South Men's Golf Championship, which was held at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, South Carolina. Due to the threat of rain on Friday, the schools played 36 holes as part of stroke play on Thursday.

Radford, who entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed, carded a combined team score of 907 (310-294-303), 43 strokes above par.

Campbell (838), USC Upstate (870), Gardner-Webb (873) and Winthrop (887) advanced to Match Play.

High Point (903) placed fifth as they finished 10 strokes ahead of the Highlanders in the final round to move ahead of them in the final standings.

Radford finished ahead of Longwood (909), Charleston Southern (917), Hampton (939) and Presbyterian (944).

Peter Gasperini was the top Highlander in the tournament as he finished in a tie for 19^th-place. Gasperini (75-80-71) finished with a combined score of 226. He tied for fifth overall with 11 birdies in the event. He was also just one of 12 players to record an eagle.

Hunter Duncan placed 23^rdwith a combined total of 227, one stroke behind Gasperini.

Parker See (T-32, 83-71-77-231), Tyler Hull (T-35, 75-76-82-233) and Ryan Neil (41^st, 88-73-79-240) completed the scoring for Radford.
