TRACK & FIELD HAS HUGE DAY AT VIRGINIA GRAND PRIX

DAY ONE RECAP

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –
La'Tisha Chambers once again solidified her place as one of the greatest sprinters to ever compete in the Radford uniform on Saturday, breaking a pair of school records to lead the Highlanders on Day Two of the Virginia Grand Prix.

The Alleghany High School product began her day with a record-breaking performance in the 100-meter dash where she crossed the finish line in 11.75 seconds. She had already broken the program record in the event back on April 13 with a time of 11.78 seconds at the Gamecock Invitational.

Then, running in the 200-meter dash, Chambers took down Khadijah Conda's mark of 23.93 seconds from April 1, 2000 with a time of 23.91 seconds this time out. She placed third overall and has now taken down three individual records and three relay records in her prestigious career.

True freshman Emilie Miller continues to look like a seasoned veteran on the track. This time, she took fifth overall and moved into sixth on the all-time top-10 list with a time of 14.11 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.

Radford's 4x100-meter relay team also broke into the program's top-10 on Saturday, running the relay with a season-best time of 46.21 seconds which ranks third all-time.

Taylor Tinsley delivered the very first notable performance of the day for the Highlanders, clearing 1.62 meters (5'3.75") in the high jump to place second overall and earn a new personal record.

A trio of her teammates then picked up PR's of their own throughout the day. Denisha Hoosier came up with a massive personal record of 12.06 seconds in the 100-meter dash, Chloe Phillips got a PR in the 800 meters and Karah Foster picked up a PR in the 200-meter dash as well.
