CARLIK JONES INVITED TO CHRIS PAUL CP3 ELITE GUARD CAMP


 
RADFORD, Va. – Rising redshirt junior guard Carlik Jones has been invited to the 10th annual Chris Paul CP3 Elite Guard Camp to be held July 18-21 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
 
The camp, which is invitation-only, is comprised of the top 20 collegiate guards in the nation. Nine-time NBA All-Star and current Houston Rockets star Chris Paul hosts the event each year to bring together the top players at his position and teach them the skills necessary for the next level. He is hands-on for the entirety of the camp and will work out with each player personally.
 
Jones has already made his mark on the Radford Men's Basketball program over his first two collegiate seasons. The Cincinnati, Ohio native was named Big South Freshman of the Year in 2017-18 and was both a First Team All-Big South and First Team All-NABC District 3 selection last season.
 
He averaged 15.7 points, 5.8 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game while leading the Highlanders to a share of the Big South regular season title and a second straight appearance in the Big South Tournament championship game in 2018-19. His 181 assists over 31 games ranked second in single-season program history and he also ranks top-10 in career program history for points per game, free throw percentage and assists.
 
Last year's CP3 Elite Guard Camp participants included Ja Morant of Murray State, who was drafted second overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2019 NBA Draft. Other notable alumni of the Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp include Kemba Walker, Stephen Curry, Isaiah Thomas, CJ McCollum, Marcus Smart, Bradley Beal, Fred Van Fleet, De'Aaron Fox and Trae Young.
