PLAY CONCLUDES AT VCU INVITATIONAL, GASPERINI FINISHES TIED FOR THIRD

RICHMOND, Va. – Peter Gasperini's stellar third round, that included six birdies, propelled him into a tie for third as the Highlanders finished eighth at the VCU Invitational that concluded Tuesday.

The redshirt senior ended day one in a tie for 11^th but shot six-under (66) in the final round to move up eight spots into a tie for third place with VCU's Ian Peng. Gasperini's third round play helped the Highlanders finish with an 859 as a team. They were just one stroke from finishing in a tie for seventh with Richmond.

Hunter Duncan played as an individual and notched a top 20 finish. He shot four-under (68) and finished the two-day invitational three-under 213. Andrew Kennedy and Tyler Hull had the next best finishes that counted towards team play. Kennedy resumed in a tie for 39^th after shooting one-over (73) on Tuesday and Hull fell 12 spots after carding a four-over (76).

The two underclassmen Nicholas Taliaferro and Patrick Gareiss fell into a tie for 53^rd and 56^th respectively.
