RADFORD WELCOMES PRESBYTERIAN TO DEDMON CENTER FOR ‘WHITE OUT’ GAME

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's basketball team welcomes Presbyterian to the Dedmon Center on Thursday night for a 'White Out' game, where all fans are encouraged to wear white. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Radford (15-9, 10-2 Big South) won its fifth straight game on Monday night and handed Winthrop its first Big South loss of the season. The Highlanders had a 27-point lead in the second half and withstood a late surge from the Eagles to gut out a win, 81-77.

Carlik Jones led the way with 20 points and knocked down some clutch shots on Monday night. He picked up his 14th 20-plus point game this season and leads the team with 19.9 points per game.

In Big South home games this year, Jones is averaging 25.8 points on 55.0 percent shooting from the floor. The Highlanders are holding Big South visitors to 27.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Travis Fields, Jr., was efficient from the floor on Monday night going 8-for-10 totaling a 19-point performance. He's averaging 12.7 points per game this season. Donald Hicks chipped in 11 and has scored a combined 39 points over the last three games. He needs just 30 points to become the 33rd player in program history to record 1,000 points.

Radford still ranks first in Big South games in scoring defense with 67.3 points allowed, in addition to leading the circuit in field goal defense at 39.7 percent permitted. The Highlanders are the only team holding league foes under 40 percent shooting.

Presbyterian (9-16, 6-6 Big South) dropped its last game to Campbell, 62-79, on Feb. 8. The Blue Hose are led by Cory Hightower with 12.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. PC is averaging 66.7 points, 34.1 rebounds, and 12.5 assists per game.

Hightower is 13th in the Big South in scoring (12.9) and ninth in rebounds (5.9), while Ben Drake is 12th in rebounding (5.6). Chris Martin ranks 10th in assists (2.9) and is tied for ninth in steals (1.4). JC Younger sits at 12th in the Big South in 3-pointers made (1.7).

In league play the Blue Hose have been averaging 4.3 points higher, and are shooting .352 from the perimeter against league opponents, compared to .320 overall. Hightower is scoring 1.4 more points per game, while freshman Zeb Graham is averaging almost three more.

Once again, all fans in attendance are encouraged to wear white. The first 2,000 fans in their seats will receive a free Radford 'White Out' t-shirt. Also, the Radford softball team will also be throwing out mini balls in the first half.

Monday's game can be seen on ESPN+ or heard live online through Stretch Internet or radio outlets, WRAD 101.7 FM and WVRU 89.9 FM.
