HIGHLANDERS HEAD TO BUIES CREEK TO TAKE ON CAMPBELL

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Winners of six straight, the Radford men's basketball team will look to keep the streak alive on Saturday when it takes on Campbell in Gore Arena at 4:30 p.m.

Radford (16-9, 11-2 Big South) shot another high percentage in an 81-71 win over Presbyterian on Thursday night. Devin Hutchinson notched a career-high 17 points, while Devine Eke earned his second double-double as a Highlander. Carlik Jones also chipped in 17 points in the victory.

Averaging 21.3 points per game in Big South play, Jones leads the team with 19.8 points per outing this season and has added over five assists per game. He ranks second in the league in both those categories.

Donald Hicks has been on fire from beyond the arc in the last four games. He's hit 14 3-pointers during the stretch and is averaging 12.5 points. The Chesapeake, Va., native is 19 points shy of becoming the 33rd player in program history to record 1,000 career points.

The Highlanders have shot better than 50 percent in each of their past four games, and are averaging a 55.3 clip in that span. In that same four-game stretch, Jones is averaging 21.3 points to pace the offense. The last three games saw the Highlanders score 81 points each. Radford is 7-0 when scoring more than 80 points this season.

Campbell (13-13, 4-10 Big South) has won two of its last three including a 26-point victory over Hampton on Thursday. Cory Gensler scored 17 points in the game and CU held Hampton to a season scoring low in the 75-49 win at Gore Arena.

The team's most recent wins have been by at least 14 points, while the loss was a one-point defeat at Longwood on Monday. In the last three games, Gensler is averaging 17.3 points, while the Camels' offense is making 51.0 percent from the field.

The Camels own a 7-4 record at Gore Arena this season but is 3-4 vs. Big South foes in Buies Creek. Seven of Campbell's 10 losses in Big South play have come by single-digit margins, including five by six, or fewer, points.

Radford (66.0) and Campbell (66.4) rank first and second among Big South schools in scoring defense. The Highlanders lead the league in field goal percentage defense (.411), while Campbell is fourth (.439). Campbell tops Big South members in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.314), followed by Radford at .316.

The Highlanders lead the all-time series with the Camels 23-20 and won earlier this season inside the Dedmon Center behind Jones and Travis Fields, Jr.'s 39 combined points. Both Radford and Campbell have alumni playing in the NBA. Javonte Green is with the Boston Celtics, while Chris Clemons is with the Houston Rockets.

Saturday's game has been moved from ESPN+ to ESPN3. The game can also be heard live online through Stretch Internet or radio outlets, WRAD 101.7 FM and WVRU 89.9 FM.
