With Taylor Moore

RADFORD, Va. – Taylor Moore is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and joined the Highlanders in 2018 after concluding her high school career at Briarwood Christian School. She is entering her third season with the Radford volleyball team and is a rising junior.

Moore has played in a total of 31 sets, 15 matches played, and tallied 21 digs. Her freshman highlights include digs against Hampton and Campbell during conference play as well as an assist against Gardner-Webb on Oct. 19. This past campaign, she notched an ace versus Colgate in addition to a personal best of five digs against VCU and posted a total of 19 digs.

While at Briarwood Christian she competed all four years and notched numerous accolades for her play on the court. Some of those honors include All-Metro honorable mention, played on the Southern Performance Volleyball Club in addition to sand volleyball, made the VA Watchlist, won the 17 Club AAU National Championships, and was nominated to the 'All Over the Mountain Team'—a sports journal out of the metro-Birmingham area.

What is your favorite moment as a Highlander?
Meeting new people.

What is something most people don't know about you?
No one really calls me by my first name. It's either Taymo or Mo.

Do you have a pregame ritual?
Yes. I have to listen to music I like from my favorite playlist before every game.

What made you want to attend Radford?
The volleyball program and people.

What advice would you give to any future Highlanders?
Always work hard for what you want and never doubt yourself.

What are you looking forward to in the 2020 season?
New culture within the team.

How has your time at Radford affected you?
"Through the ups and downs you gotta keep pursuing your goal." I would say this has made me more determined and realize that nothing comes easy meaning either in classes or on the court."

Even though it is technically the offseason, how has the 'season' being cut short affected you?
"Don't look for self-pity." Honestly it felt pretty bad because I was looking forward to Spring and getting reps on top of reps being either in practice or on my own. Regardless, I still have to work out and touch a ball so sometimes it just is what it is."
