With Morgan Lawson

RADFORD, Va. – Morgan Lawson is a rising sophomore outside hitter from California. She is looking to make her debut on the court for the Highlanders in this upcoming 2020 fall season. Prior to attending Radford, Morgan played volleyball for Salesian College Prep. She concluded her time there garnering various accolades such as Second Team All-League twice, First Team All-League in her junior campaign, MVP of the league her final season, as well as being an honor student. Morgan wrapped up her high school career with 408 kills, 103 blocks, 89 digs, with a career highlight of 15 kills in one game her senior year.

What is your favorite moment as a Highlander?
Team bonding and getting to know my teammates outside of volleyball.

What is something most people don't know about you?
I never wear the same pair of socks.

Do you have a pregame ritual?
I just like to listen to game time songs to get me fired up.

What made you want to attend Radford?
I liked the family aspect of the team and how they were all so close together and it felt really genuine.

What advice would you give to any future Highlanders?
Even during the hard times when you feel that no one is on your side side or understands what you're going through, you have about 16 sisters to talk to. I promise you one of them has gone through something that you're going through.

What are you looking forward to in the 2020 season?
A different atmosphere an winning games.

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

Even though it is technically the offseason, how has the 'season' being cut short affected you?
"Hardwork beats talent, when talent fails to work hard."
