RADFORD WOMEN'S LACROSSE ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: HANNAH ROSEN

RADFORD, Va. – Hannah Rosen helped lay the foundation for Coach Hardy to build upon in goal. As the Highlanders' very first goalkeeper in 2016, she maintained her post through all 15 games that season.

Hannah and the Radford defense did not disappoint. Individually she was the Big South Conference leader in saves per game at 11.40—second in the nation, nine games with double-digit saves including a season-high 18 versus Detroit, ranked second in the nation for ground balls per game, led the team in that category at 54, and tallied 171 saves to sit at fourth in the nation.

Hannah RosenWhile Hannah's sophomore season received a redshirt classification, she retained a year of eligibility and returned for eight games during the 2018 campaign. She notched four starts after taking over the starting goalie job late in the season. Her 52 saves came through her 272 minutes in goal, with a 42.6 percent save percentage. Hannah posted a season-high 14 saves against Liberty to cap off a three-game stretch where she had 10-plus saves.

In 2019 her final season as a Highlander, she saw action in seven contests and logged 122 minutes in the net with 13 saves. Hannah concluded her career with 30 games played, 23 starts, 64 ground balls, several caused turnovers, 236 saves, and over 1,000 minutes in goal.

Hannah is from Kennesaw, Georgia and earned playoff MVP honors on her way to guiding Kell to a state championship in 2013. She was also a member of the varsity lacrosse team since her freshman year.

In Radford program history, she is in the history books a total of 21 times. Hannah's legacy spans the individual, career top-10, single-season, and year-by-year record pages. She still holds the mark for career saves.

Thinking back to your time before Radford, what made you chose to come here?
When I came on campus for the first time, I knew that was where I wanted to go. Coach Marvine (now Hardy) welcomed me with open arms. The campus was great, the coaches were great and so were my teammates.

What was your major at Radford?
I majored in Sports Management.

What is something you will always remember/cherish about Radford lacrosse?
Our pre-game rituals, sometimes I would make up some speech at the beginning of a game to "hype" up the team. It was fun to do.

Do you have a favorite memory with your teammates or even Radford in general?
Sharkeys Up Top after our senior night game, although the season didn't end how we expected it to it was a great time reminiscing on the four years spent with those girls and the coaches.

What are you up to now?
I currently live in North Carolina and work for a company called Game Plan. I am a Customer Success Manager and get the opportunity to work with different athletics organizations from college to professional, helping athletes through their journey and prepare for life after sports.

What would you consider your greatest accomplishment since graduating from Radford
Getting a big girl job and learning about patience through the process.

How did being a student-athlete here at Radford help prepare you for life after graduation?
I learned a lot of valuable lessons as a student-athlete but the most important were hard work, time management, and patience.

What advice would you give our current student-athletes?
Surround yourself with good people and you'll become a good person.
