GET TO KNOW RADFORD VOLLEYBALL

With Hailey Flowers

RADFORD, Va. – Hailey Flowers will be embarking on her sophomore season as a Highlander this fall, after a tremendous breakout first-year campaign for Radford. Hailey made her debut in the first game of the season against UT Rio Grande Valley back on August 30, 2019. The Highlanders won in three sets behind Hailey's team-high 10 kills.

She was a mainstay on the court for Radford in 2019 with season-high totals of 12 kills at Gardner-Webb, 13.5 points at Gardner-Webb, two aces at Campbell, nine digs versus Hampton, and five total blocks at Campbell. Her freshman season statistics saw her in 92 sets, 26 matches played, 168 kills, five assists, six aces, 79 digs, four block solos, 27 block assists, 31 total blocks, and 191.5 points.

Hailey earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors for her performances against conference opponents USC Upstate and UNC Asheville back on October 28th. Between those two games she tallied 18 kills, eight digs, and four blocks while aiding Radford to back-to-back three set victories.

Prior to Radford, Hailey was an honor student and member of the National Honor Society at Eureka High School. As a high school volleyball player she garnered accolades such as Panatagraph All-Region, named to the AVCA Under Armour Phenom list, unanimous First Team HOI conference twice, special mention All-State, Journal Star Player of the Year, MaxPreps AVCA Player of the Week for Illinois on September 24th, and First Team All-State. Hailey also posted the most blocks and kills on her varsity team twice. The 2016 Illinois 2A State Champion was named team captain and reached the 1,000 career kill milestone her senior year. Hailey played club volleyball with the Illini Elite Volleyball Club, where she made the top team each year and placed third at the 2017 17U Open AAU Nationals.
