Big South Tabs Samantha Reitz as Player of the Week

Radford, Va. – Radford Volleyball's Samantha Reitz was named the Big South Player of the Week for the first time in her career after a stellar weekend performance against USC Upstate and UNC Asheville, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Reitz recorded 27 total kills in two conference victories, including a season-high 18 kills in Friday's win over the Spartans. She also provided the match-winning point in the fourth set to give the Highlanders their first conference win of the year.

The senior from St. Louis also recorded three block assists in both games, along with a service ace.

Reitz is the first Highlander to win the award this season. The last Radford player to garner conference Player of the Week honors was Mallory McKnight in 2019.

The Highlanders will look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Hampton for a Friday matchup with the Pirates at 6 p.m.
