Women’s Soccer Takes Down Hampton for Fifth-Straight Win

RADFORD, VA. – The Radford women's soccer team won their fifth-strait match Wednesday night 4-0 over Hampton which was also their fifth-straight shutout.

Radford controlled possession for a majority of the match and would get their first goal thanks to a free kick just outside the box by Alexeis Kirnos. The Highlanders would take that 1-0 lead into halftime and allow the second half offense to put away the game for good.

11 minutes into the second half it was freshman Kat Parris who scored her 12th goal of the season. No other player in the conference has reached double-digit goals yet, but Parris continues to fuel the Radford offense. Kayla Thomas assisted Parris' goal with a pass into the box from Radford's own territory.

Radford's third goal of the night developed from a shot off a corner kick by Brianna Oliver that rung off the crossbar. Izzy Armstrong took a pass from Reese Degnan and placed it past the goalie to make it a 3-0 game. The final goal of the night came as the seconds were ticking down. In the 90th minute Amy Swain made it a 4-0 game, her fifth of the season.

QUOTABLE
"Tonight was an important game as far as the standings go. I think we played well and I liked the way our team adjusted to a different style of play and still had success. I'm very proud of our team and the way they've played the last five games scoring goals and getting shutouts. We look forward to going to Charleston Southern to finish off the regular season." -Head Coach Ben Sohrabi.
