Women’s Basketball Welcomes Lees-McRae to Dedmon Wednesday Afternoon

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball team will return to Carilion Clinic Court at the Dedmon Center on Wednesday afternoon to face off with Division II Lees-McRae.

SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Bobcats have only met three times during the regular season with Radford owning victories in all three of those match-ups. Radford and Lees-McRae last played each other in 2015 where Radford won decisively, 84-39. Current assistant coach Jayda Worthy was in the starting lineup as a player for the Highlanders at the time and recorded an impressive double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Lees-McRae has only played two games through the early portion of their schedule with losses to North Georgia and Young Harris. The Bobcats were selected to finish 10th in the Conference Carolinas with senior Destiny Johnson and Malikah Meyers named Preseason Players to Watch by the league. Meyers and Johnson have lived up to expectations through the first two games, as the pair has combined for 20 rebounds and 36 points.

MORGAN CREATING TURNOVERS
Last week, Kyanna Morgan set a career single-game record with five steals against Lenoir-Rhyne. Despite limited action against West Virginia, Morgan still gave the Mountaineers issues and recorded another steal. Morgan has recorded at least one steal in every game this season and leads the team with seven. Ashley Tudor is a close second with five steals on the season. Winning the turnover battle will be important for the Highlanders, as they've only won the turnover battle once this season, coming in their win against Lenoir-Rhyne.

MARSHALL DANGEROUS FROM DEEP
Destinee Marshall has been given the starting nod in Radford's last two games and has made it count shooting 5-for-6 over those two games. Marshall set a single-game high in points with 13 against Lenoir-Rhyne and followed that performance up with another double-digit point total against West Virginia. Marshall also dished out three assists against Lenoir-Rhyne as she continues to develop as an offensive threat for the Highlanders.
