SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Cougars do not have a deep history with Saturday being the first meeting between the two squads during the regular season. The Highlanders and Chanticleers, however, have a deep history dating back to 1987. Radford owns the series edge 44-19 and posted a 42-18 record against Coastal Carolina when the pair were both in the Big South.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
College of Charleston boasts a fast-paced, energetic offense that will make for an exciting game on Saturday. The program is averaging over 80 points this season and owns strong wins over UNC Greensboro, Charleston Southern and Wofford. Four Cougars are currently averaging double-digit points with Jenna Annecchiarico pacing the team with 15.6 per game. Peyton Martin leads the team on the boards with 10.0 per game while averaging a double-double with 12.7 points per game as well.

College of Charleston has outscored their opponents by an average 20 points this season but is getting out-rebounded by their opponents. The team also shoots just 29% from three-point range but makes up for it by shooting 42% overall. The program has also found success in limiting the turnovers while forcing their opponents to do the opposite. The Cougars are averaging just 13.8 turnovers per game while their opponents have been turning the ball over an average 25.1 times per game.

SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
Coastal Carolina is off to a hot start this season, losing their first game just earlier this week when Saint Mary's hit a buzzer-beating three to snap their eight-game winning streak. The Chanticleers received national attention earlier this week by receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Aja Blount is the team's leading scorer and rebounder with 16.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game. Deeja Richardson is also averaging double-digit points this year with 14.0 per game. The Highlanders and Chanticleers have one common opponent this season in UNC Wilmington with both teams defeating the Seahawks on the road.

BIRKHEAD'S 15 IN 1
Bridget Birkhead burst onto the scene last Sunday when she scored 15 points in just the first 10 minutes of action at (RV) Virginia Tech. Birkhead nailed four straight three-pointers to help the Highlanders claw back from an early 0-11 deficit. The transfer from Mount St. Mary's has been one of Radford's consistent threats from three this season, leading the team in points per game with 10.1 so far this season. Birkhead is shooting 36.6% from three-point range this season and is tied for third for the team-lead in assists with 14.

CLOSING OUT THE NONCONFERENCE
Radford will close out their nonconference portion of the schedule with two South Carolina foes. Radford currently owns a 4-5 record against opponents outside the Big South and is looking for their first winning record going into conference play since the team went 6-5 during the 2018-19 season. During the McGuire era, Radford has posted a winning record in 3 of 7 full seasons against nonconference teams.

RIVALRY RENEWED
Radford and Coastal Carolina will renew their former Big South rivalry on Sunday for the first time since Coastal Carolina left the Big South after the 2015-16 season. Radford has won the last three meetings and owns a 44-19 series record over Coastal Carolina, although the series has tightened up over the last decade. Neither team has won more than three straight contests against the other since 2010. The Chanticleers are only behind in the series 12-17 when playing on their home court.
